Recently we enjoyed a lovely weekend away at Cardwell which is halfway between Townsville and Cairns North Queensland. It's a gorgeous small and unspoilt town right on the beach. It took a major blow from Cyclone Ýasi in 2011. One year on it's starting to recover and look as great as ever.On the way home we took a small detour to visit Wallaman Falls. It is the highest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia.

It was quite a drive but well worth it. And the swimming was fantastic. We hope to go camping there sometime this year.

Living in very flat Florida I forget that the world has these beautiful places!
